You have your own bedroom, eat with the host family and take individual lessons in the same home, without a classroom or a group to keep pace with.

The teachers are qualified, they host students in their own homes and the home has been checked.
The language follows you through the house
With Home Tuition, your teacher gives you private lessons shaped around your level, interests, needs and goals. You choose 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours a week, with lessons from Monday to Friday. Arrival takes place on Sunday and departure on Saturday, so the course has a simple weekly rhythm while the language continues in the moments between lessons.
The residential programme means full-board accommodation in your host’s home: an individual bedroom and three meals a day with the host family. A private bathroom can be requested where that option is available in the house. The family life is not a separate activity added to the course; it is the setting in which you practise listening, asking questions and taking part at your own pace.
Two ways of making the lessons fit your life
Home Tuition is the stay at your teacher’s home: private lessons, a bedroom in the house and full board with the host family. With a 10-hour Home Tuition week, the time outside lessons is part of the immersion. Depending on the host and location, it may include General Activities, Cultural Visits and/or Farm Activities. The option is chosen with the placement rather than treated as a fixed timetable.
Lessons only is the other formula. You keep your own accommodation and arrangements, and take private lessons at the teacher’s home without accommodation or meals. The same weekly choices are available: 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours. I present both formulas because they answer different situations: one gives you a home and daily contact with the language, while the other leaves your accommodation separate from the lessons.
The practical details around the week
If you need help getting from an airport, railway station or port to the host’s home, I check the available transfer point against the teacher’s profile and your journey. The transfer is extra to the stay, and I need the complete travel details and a mobile number in advance. An extra night can also be arranged when your journey requires it; meals are included with that night, but lessons are not.
General Activities and Cultural Visits are paid options selected separately and added to the stay. They can give the week a different texture: cooking with the host, going to a market, taking a walk, practising conversation during an outing, or visiting a place of interest with the host or another adult from the family. Cultural Visits are extra to the base stay, and what is available depends on the host’s location and availability. I only describe the options that can be arranged for the proposed placement.
A stay that can belong to an adult, a senior or a teenager
An adult or senior may want to return to a language after many years, prepare for an exam, work on professional communication or simply have enough time to speak without being hurried by a class. Individual lessons let the teacher start from the level you actually have and follow the purpose you brought with you. A quieter family setting can make room for conversation and observation, while a higher weekly total gives the course a more concentrated shape.
For a parent, the important part is not only what happens during the lesson. A student under 18 staying under Home Tuition lives in the same home as the teacher and is looked after day to day by the host family. The family is there for meals, conversations and the small questions that help a young person settle. The arrangements for activities, transfers and closer supervision are explained before the stay, so you can understand how the programme will support your child.
