Our Hosting Programmes: Find the Right Fit for You
We offer two main pathways for our host families, designed to match your skills and interests.
Main Programme: Home Tuition (For Qualified Teachers)
This is our flagship programme and the most sought-after by our students. If you have a teaching qualification or relevant experience, you can become a homestay teacher. You will provide structured, one-to-one language lessons in addition to full-board accommodation.
- Best for: Qualified teachers, corporate trainers, and university graduates with teaching experience who want to create a structured learning plan.
- What you provide: A full-board homestay and personalised language lessons (typically 10-25 hours per week), tailored to the student’s goals.
Alternative Programme: Cultural Immersion (No Formal Teaching)
If you don’t have a formal teaching qualification but are passionate about sharing your culture, our Cultural Immersion programme is a perfect choice. You host an international student and immerse them in your daily life through activities, conversation, and cultural outings. The student learns organically by living the language with you.
- Best for: Families, couples, or individuals who love to share their hobbies, lifestyle, and local area.
- What you provide: A full-board homestay and a welcoming environment where the student is included in your daily routines and conversations.
How to Become a Host Family: The 3-Step Process
- Online Application: Fill in our form with details about your home, your qualifications (if any), and your motivation to host a foreign student.
- Qualification Interview: Our local team will contact you for an interview to discuss your profile and ensure your home meets our quality standards.
- Receive Your First Enquiries: Once approved, you will start receiving enquiries from students who match your profile. You are free to accept or decline any request.
Requirements to Host International Students
To ensure the quality of our programmes, we look for specific profiles.
Qualifications for the Home Tuition Programme
To teach English from home (or another language), you must have:
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, PGCE, CELTA)
And/or
A university degree (in any academic subject) and a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
Profile for the Cultural Immersion Programme
No formal teaching qualification is required. You simply need to be passionate about cultural exchange and have interests you are willing to share.
Basic Requirements for All Hosts
- A comfortable, private bedroom for the student.
- The ability to provide three homemade meals per day.
- A genuine interest in intercultural exchange.
- Native or C2-level proficiency in the language you will be sharing.
